Work for Help

In our “Work for Help” section, we hope to share an idea with all of you with children. We have a large and ever growing population of retired group of the human race. A group that has witnessed so much history and was a part of it too. Many have a kind heart longing for interaction with the youth of tomorrow.

At the same time they need help with a lot of little things in life that may be a major concern for them that for the rest of us, we consider is so minor.

At the same time, because of the need of two parents working or that of a single parent, many kids miss out on the benefits of having a parent or guardian at home after school to help the child stay focused on their education and their dreams; while the great benefit of staying out of harms way.

At the same time, millions of seniors long for the interaction with youth and the benefits it brings them to exercise their brain while sharing great stories of history.

Senior says “what are you studying Eric, Julia?” They say “we are talking about the Civil Rights movement,” or “about the first landing on the moon.” The senior reply’s “let me tell you what it was like back then,” or “I remember my dad buying our first black and white television so we could see the landing. What a thrill.”

In return for a retired senior looking out for your kid, kids, or others kids, the kids can cut the lawn, rake the leaves, shovel snow or even run some errands for them. This way kids get the help they need and seniors get the help they need. Ultimately society and the human race gets the help we all need at certain times in our life.

In the 21st century, millions of people are concerned about global warming, and the using up of precious resources that can’t be replaced. Let’s not feel that way in forty plus years when a lot of our current senior resources are gone. WE CAN’T LET THEM GO TO WASTE!

If you take the time to talk to a senior in your neighborhood, and ask them if they could help you out while you and your kids help them, you might have a good match.

Not every senior is willing or right for this deal, but many are. Utilizing this great resource of knowledge maybe the extra push the currant generation needs to help them succeed.

If we can’t help or interact with one another, what really is the point of being here on earth? Feeling a connection from generation to generation has been an important part of life. We at PMA Everyday hope that this idea can help at least one family, but the goal is to help millions of families.

Give this idea a try and please write and tell us about it. Even if you are the only family that made it work.
